MAGAZINE SERVICES

The objective of the Yo! Magazine After-School Program is to educate children in grades 3 through 12 in the New York City area and beyond through print media. Our goal is to strengthen children’s reading and writing skills which can be easily integrated across school curriculum, including social studies, science and math. In doing so, this will allow children to freely cover and voice their opinion on a wide range of interesting topics that intrigue the minds of youth throughout the world. This program will allow twenty well behaved-highly intelligent students to represent their school or after school program by physically creating a magazine which will report issues throughout their school or after-school program, community and the world at large. Students will directly interview, write and creatively capture/design articles covering individuals in all professions which may include sports, politics, music and acting. At the end of each quarter of the year long program an estimated three to four full color professionally printed magazines at 48 pages will be produced and distributed throughout the tri-state area and beyond.
